[E3 2013] Konami Pre-E3 Conference  (Read 1471 times)

Posted on 10 Jun 2013, 09:05:54

00:00 - President of Konami Digital, Tomoyuki Tsuboi, introduces the Pre-E3 show and discusses Konami's 40th anniversary and ongoing involvement with the entertainment industry.
01:42 - Dance Dance Revolution: Classroom Edition. DDR's being introduced to schools to help kids stay in shape in North America, in partnership with the Michelle Obama's Let's Move initiative, the American Diabetes Association and United Healthcare.
03:15 - Director of Digital Publishing, John Coligan, briefly talks about social game development and the Dragon Collection Studio's MLB Dream Nine Mobile game on both Facebook and iOS as well as Puzzle Chasers which is being co-published by Zynga. Konami seeks to be more involved with indie game publishing and has signed on Kung Fu Factory to release titles such as Domo Jump (details of which will be revealed later). Konami are also jumping into social Casino apps with Slot Revolution and Casino League.
05:26 - Pro Evolution Soccer 2014. Creative Producer Kei Masuda speaks of the next installment of the hugely popular franchise which will run off a modified FOX engine and have an emphasis on fluidity, boasting enhanced ball control for more instinctive play and team management in the form of morale and player motivation affecting abilities,
10:28 - Metal Gear Solid V. Hideo Kojima speaks of his desire for a more subdued performance expressed through subtle facial movements and tone rather than words, and that Kiefer Sutherland has been brought onto the project to provide both the voice and full facial capture for Snake. Kojima goes on to talk more about the FOX engine and its ability to provide photo-realistic details, bridging the gap between what people expect from live-action films and video-games. More details will be shown at E3, or in the MGSV thread here. (not up yet)
15:23 - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. SPOILERS. Sequel to the re-imagining of the Castlevania universe which sees Dracula as the protagonist. To be set in a modern-day environment, the Mercury Engine has been adapted so that levels grow "organically" rather than progress on a level-to-level basis. 6-minute long trailer for the game that I won't elaborate on as it spoils pretty much everything from the first game.
26:05 - Live-action Lord of Shadow feature. The less said about this the better.
