Electronic Entertainment Expo 2013 Conference Summary

Note: Background noises in the video links below were caused by some idiot who didn't realise his mic was on during the event, and aren't problems with the specific clips I've chosen.
  • EA COO Peter Moore takes to the stage and reveals that 11 games will be demonstrated at the conference.
  • First up, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare! Popcap co-founder John Vechey tells us about the upcoming PvZ co-operative multiplayer title that will pit four players against hordes of zombies. Even though the whole thing's been done to death, this actually looks fun and has a great style of humor. Also, Peggle 2! ?trailer??website?
  • Off the back of the Microsoft conference, more of Titanfall is shown. Available on Xbox One, PC, and Xbox 360, the developers spoke of their intention to make a game they themselves could be completely absorbed into and that mech use would be seamless.?trailer??website?
  • DICE studios are currently working on Star Wars: Battlefront, which will utilize their Frostbite engine. Only an announcement with no gameplay footage, but it was still enough to elicit a strong response from the viewers.?trailer??website?
  • Need for Speed: Rivals was announced, which will feature offline support though it retains the same heavy mutliplayer and co-op focus as Most Wanted. Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad appears to talk a bit about an upcoming NFS movie coming out in 2014 - going to be interesting seeing how it competes with the Fast and Furious franchise.?trailer??website?
  • A brief trailer for Dragon Age: Inquisition is shown, featuring a voiceover by Claudia Black (Morrigan). Launches Fall 2014.?trailer??website?
  • FIFA, Madden 14, NBA Live 14 and UFC 2014 all make up the EA Sports segment of the presentation, all boasting enhanced intelligence and innovations for greater realism.
  • More of Battlefield 4 is shown off, highlighting the returning "commander" mode and confirmed 64-player online matches. The best part of this was showing off the destructible terrain which had a group of players bringing down an entire skyscraper in the middle of a firefight - if this isn't a scripted event it could open up a whole new level of strategic gameplay.?trailer??website?
  • The big reveal at the end of the show - a new Mirror's Edge! Avoiding the use of "2" as reports indicate that this may be a prequel.?trailer?
