str or agi?  (Read 764 times)

So I noticed that Knights have 2 sets of gear for lvl 50... they're identical across the board except one has 2 agi and the other has 2 str... so here's the question, str or agi?

I saw the same thing happen with my sin and I'd be willing to bet that every physical damage has the same trade off on lvl 50 gear

so for knights, str or agi? also overall what do you guys think?

Finally for sockets, what should a Knight go for? str, agi or vit?

I'm guessing str > agi on gear and socket str or vit?

Oh.. I forgot to ask the other night.. bah. DPS have str vs. agi on gear (and up until a certain cutoff, str helps dps more), but tanks generally have dodge/parry vs. haste/vigor/hit gear.. tanks usually want to go for the dodge/parry.

Here are some nifty WP links to help you decide:

well gear I figured out, so that was easy x_x

totally missed that they weren't both dodge/parry because I'm retarded

now for sockets... str would give me more parry, and str would give me more threat, but as jin can tell you threat's not a problem for me  :mischievous:

agi would give me more crit which would give me some increase in threat, but it would also give me dodge

the last option would be to go vit but each point is worth only 6hp so a 5 vit rune would mean 30hp... which isn't much... it adds up but even say, 7 sockets would mean 210 hp + blessing = less than 250hp... feels a bit underwhelming

then again, 7 str would mean like 70 AP and 70 parry or about .8% parry so it's also not much and the agi would be about .8% dodge and about 3.2% crit

Looking it over I feel like agi might actually be the way to go since it's going to give me a better return to get 3.2% crit than 70AP and dodge to parry is about the same.

Either that or I'm underestimating what 35 vit means for a tank?

gun to my head I'd say AGI but I could easily be wrong... anyone got an option?

STR, VIT or AGI are good options for tanks

Runes are a minimum of the build actually, and if you arent planning to step on enhancements then they go for even less

35 VIT = 210 HP
35 AGI = 3.15% CRIT & 1.57 DODGE
35 STR = 70 AP & 1.57 PARRY

your stats from a full colo T1 gear and Defender Accesories should be:

STR = 96 + 81 + 118 + 103 + 74 + 59 + 88 + 29 + 37 + 30 + 22 = 737
AGI = 11 + 9 + 13 + 11 + 8 + 7 + 10 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 2 = 82
VIT = 77 + 65 + 119 + 107 + 77 + 59 + 89 = 593

DEF = 589 + 297 + 272 + 223 + 198 + 248 = 1827
PARRY = 31 + 26 + 38 + 33 + 24 + 19 + 28 + 9 + 12 + 10 + 7 = 237
DODGE = 61 + 52 + 76 + 66 + 47 + 38 + 57 + 19 + 24 + 18 + 14 = 472

STR += Battle Orders 5/5 = 811
PARRY += STR * 2 = 1859
DODGE += AGI *2 = 636
HP = VIT * 6 = 3558
HP += Aura Armor 5/5 = 4270

Every point in stat equals more or less 0.0225% sooo
DEF = 41.10%
PARRY = 41.83%
DODGE = 14.31%

I dunno you, but I would give those points to AGI, dodge is really low there compared to the rest, altho then again, I dunno if Im missing something XD

Runes, cards, potions and foods, were deprecated for this calculation.
Nick -> Lein
Leinzan -> Average Rogue!
Aiot -> Monkey Assassin!
Citlalicue -> Cursing Crescentia of the Vengenful Stigma!
Arkenne -> Squishy Tanky Monk

VIT gives a boost to healing amount of potions, too, but I don't know if the runes would make a big difference in the long run.. and there's also cards to think of. It's a tough choice. D: But, if you're not finding yourself dropping to random one-shots, VIT probably isn't a big deal.. ehh dodge might make more sense? There is a dodge/parry cap of 70%, too, but I dunno how close knights come to that.
