Heavensward is the first expansion pack of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which launched on 23rd June 2015 as a massive content update that takes our journey north into the Holy See of Ishgard in the midst of the Dragonsong War - a thousand-year conflict between The Wyrmking and Thordan and his Knights Twelve. Detailing all of the content in this thread would be an immense task and you can find a more comprehensive list of updates by checking out either the Square's Heavensward website or the official patch notes, but for those looking for a quick update here are the most important additions:
  • Three new jobs have been added: the Dark Knight (tank), Astrologian (Healer), and Machinist (DPS).
  • A new playable race, the Au Ra, have been added. Click here to see a side-by-side comparison video of the cosmetic options for the Raen and Xaela clans.
  • The level cap has been raised from 50 to 60 for all combative, crafting, and gathering classes.
  • Additional skills for each class/job to offer more variety for every role.
  • Several new locations to explore, including the fourth city-state of Ishgard, Coerthas Western Highlands, Dravanian Forelands and Hinterlands, The Churning Mists, The Sea of Clouds, and more!
  • Certain mounts have gained the ability to fly, though restricted to new maps only. The maps are significantly larger compared to those in ARR to accommodate faster travel and exploration.
  • 8 new dungeons and raids have been initially added with more to come, including the Alexander battle being introduced two weeks after launch which will follow in the tradition of Coil's hardcore content.
  • Crafting and Gathering classes are receiving new post-50 updates, including Specialist and Scrips systems.
  • Free Companies (guilds) can add a crafting basement to their home, which offers an extensive list of group projects to work towards which include the building of airships, aetherite wheels, and housing upgrades.
This page contains major spoilers! The story of Heavensward begins immediately after the conclusion of the 2.55 storyline, and access to the new content will be restricted to those that haven't completed the main story quest titled "Before the Dawn".

Owing to schemes in the shadows of Ul'dah, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn have been scattered, and the Warrior of Light has been forced to flee North.

Though granted shelter by Lord Haurchefant, our heroes must press on to Ishgard. But what trials await in this reclusive nation, locked in a never-ending struggle with dragons?

Come what may, they must not falter, lest the light of hope be forever extinguished.

Until we get extensive guides up, here's a brief overview of each of the three new jobs available. Unlike the 8 starting classes of ARR, the following three jobs don't have a pre-requisite base class and thus all start at level 30.

Dark Knight
Starting Quest: Our End, Ishgardian Citizen - The Pillars (X:13, Y:8)

The pious Ishgardian clergy guide the flock, and the devout knights protect the weak. Yet even the holiest of men succumb to the darkest of temptations. None dare to administer justice to these sacrosanct elite residing outside the reach of the law. Who, then, defends the feeble from the transgressions of those meant to guide and protect them? A valiant few take up arms to defend the downtrodden, and not even the holy priests and knights can escape their judgment. Pariahs in their own land, they are known by many as “dark knights.”

Starting Quest: Stairway to the Heavens, Jannequinard - The Pillars (X:15, Y:10)

Ever has man coveted knowledge, and none more so than that of his fate. Thus did he labor to master the skill of foresight—but initial efforts bore little fruit. That is, until he looked to the stars above, which foretell the coming seasons, and learned to read the heavens. Though this gift is known today as astrology, the people of Sharalyan saw fit to not only read the stars, but to write their movements as well. By attuning their aetherial energies to that of constellations, they learned to wield magicks with heretofore unseen properties.

Thus was astromancy born—a new form of magick which grants its users power over fate. Employing a star globe and divining deck in their miraculous deeds, fortune always smiles upon these masters of arcana.

Starting Quest: Saviour of Skysteel, Stephanivien - Foundation (X:8, Y:10)

The war with Dravania rages on, brutal and unrelenting. With no end in sight, the Holy See grows desperate. As her dragoons lay down their lives in defense of their home, Ishgard turns to technology to protect her sons and daughters. Great cannons and ballistae now line the city walls, plucking dragons from the sky. Following the example of Cid Garlond, who has demonstrated the potency of magitek, the Skysteel Manufactory works tirelessly on the development of advanced armaments. As new and devastating weapons are brought to the fray, a new class of champion arises to wield them―the machinist.

Heavensward introduces a whopping eight new dungeons, and as we're still going through the story this section will be updated gradually with more information on what they are.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I get to Ishgard?
A. You'll need to complete the main quest line all the way up to the end of ARR's 2.55 patch, concluding with the quest "Before the Dawn". Once completed, you'll find a new quest from Alphinaud at the Intercessory (X6, Y6) in Coerthas Central Highlands, "Coming to Ishgard", that will take you through to Ishgard.

Q. Where do I unlock the new jobs?
A. The Astrologian and Machinist jobs both have their own guilds located in Ishgard, found at ___ and The Pillars (X:15, Y:10) respectfully. Simply clearing the missions handed to you by the guild NPCs will unlock the jobs for you.

The Dark Knight job doesn't have its own guild however, or any other identifying markers on the map. To access it head to The Pillars (X:13, Y:8) and look for an NPC hanging out around the The Supreme Sacred Tribunal of Halonic Inquisitory Doctrine to begin the "Our End" questline which will unlock the job as you progress through it.

Q. How do I fly?
A. Complete the main storyline up until you access "Divine Intervention" inside Fortemps Manor in The Pillars (X:11, Y:11), which will become available when you've cleared the branching quests that will take you both to Coerthas Western Highlands and The Sea of Clouds. Upon completion of this quest you'll receive a Black Chocobo Whistle and Aetherial Compass.

Now the real fun starts! To enable the ability to fly, you're going to have to scour each of the new maps for aether currents - 10 of which can be found with exploration, while 5 are available in various side-quests. You can view your progress at any time by selecting the relevent option under your "Travel" menu button, and to make the search a easier you can make use of your newly acquired compass.

To unlock flight for your own chocobo and other mounts, you'll need to pick up the quest "I Believe I Can Fly" at Foundation (X7, Y:11) after reaching level 52 and unlocking access to The Dravanian Forelands.

Q. Where are the Aether Currents?
A. They're still being found, but for now check out this ongoing guide. Even with the compass, some are easier to locate than others so we'll be adding exact locations and an easy-to-follow guide to the forum shortly.

Q. What's the best way to level?
A. Story > Sidequests > Leves > Dungeons > Fates. You'll want to prioritize clearing the story to unlock Tomestone of Law/Esoterics and attain new dungeons, while using a combination of sidequests, leves, dungeons and fates to fill in gaps in levels whenever you come up short and can't progress further. As usual, queue for dungeons while doing fates - though you should note that the new fate missions are a real pain and take a large amount of time even when large groups are working on them.

You can find Eloin the Temple Levemete in Foundation (X:10, Y:10). One thing to note is that the new Large-Scale leves aren't worth doing as they require 10 allowances for a total of only half the EXP you'd obtain if you do 10 singles concurrently. For instance, the "Necrologos: Of Sallow Vizards" leve yields 14,401 EXP and 811 gil upon completion while the Large-Scale version of the same leve returns 57,601 EXP and 7,190 gil - 86,409 EXP and 920 gil less than if you ran the single allowance one 10 times.

- - Temple Leves - -
Like regular guildleves, players can select from battlecraft, fieldcraft and tradecraft leves. The difference from the regular leves is that the players will undertake a large-scale levequests which require ten leve allowances and these temple leves will only be available on 3.0 areas - these are the leves with "(L)" at the end (there still exist normal Leve quests from the Temple Levemete). While much more difficult than normal levequests, they offer far greater experience points and rewards. Other difference is that, instead of being teleported back to the levemete, players will be transported to a nerby hamlet upon the completion of temple leves. Only on the battlecraft leves players may come across treasure coffers which sometimes contain amber-encased vilekin. These rare items can be exchanged with Amber Trader NPC on Arc of the Humble, next to the levemete in Ishgard (X:10 Y:10) - with 5 Amber-encased vilekin you can get a bracelete or ring (DoW or M) from level 52 to 58, ilvl 125 to 145. While the normal levequests can have the difficulty increased to +4, these Temple Leves only can be increased +1. Reattemplting a large-scale temple leve will require an additional 10 allowances.

Personaly I only have used these Temple Leves (L) for gathering and I found it worthy, it gives a good amount of EXP and its always quicker to do all together instead of need to go back and foward with the levequests although, if you do all the 10 leves in a row you will get more EXP but it will take more time. If your character is two or more levels higher than that of the levequest, you will suffer a penalty to rewards. Doing one Temple Leve (10 allowances payment) will only count as one levequest in your Challenge Log.

Edit 08 July 2015

- - Treasure Hunt Maps - -
They were released in patch 2.1 and to obtain them you need to have Miner, Botanist or Fisher at level 40 or above. Players can only receive 1 map through gathering once every 18 hours Earth time and its only possible to have one of each type in possession - note that if you have a map deciphered you can gather other of the same type (after you decipher a map you cant trade or sell it). After you gather your map you just use Decipher, go to the area of the map (it shows the name in the little map that will show in your screen) and try to find the exact place the map needs to be dig (to find the exact place you need to compare the Treasure Map and the Area Map and try to find the place where the X is). When you arrive at the correct location you use Dig to find the treasure. After defeating the monsters you kill when you open the treasure, you will get the rewards. The maps come in different grades and each grade give a certain amount and type of rewards. To unlock Treasure Hunt players need to complete the level 36 quest Treasures and Tribulations - you can get this quest by talking with H'loonh in Eastern La Noscea (X:21 Y:21).

Fishers should use the ability Snagging (level 36) to obtain timeworm maps.

Wyvernskin Treasure Maps - Not enough information (level 55 or above gatherer to adquire it)
Dragonskin Treasure Maps - Not enough information (level 60 gatherer)

We have a weekly treasure hunting thread but it is outdated right now. On the future it will be updated and we will give information about all the treasure hunts party runs we made in the past.

- - Company Workshops - -
Workshops can be used to craft company projects such as aetherial wheels, housing materials, and airships for the Free Company. Information about housing materials and personal airships will be put in a future patch thread (3.1 or further) since right now we dont have enough information to give.

Airships built by the FC can then be deployed on exploratory voyages. From these voyages its possible to get various different and new items that can be used to unlock Schematics. In order to craft company projects, players must first purchase a company workshop (800k). The option to purchase and enter a company workshop is available at the entrance to private chambers. Its possible to do the items alone or with a party but cooperation of all free company is always better and fun. When you open the Material Deliever - after opening a project in Fabrication Station - you can check all the materials you will need and organize it so your teammates can help you with the construction. Besides the Fabrication Station there exist the Schematic Board which is used to draft new projects. After gathering the required items that you can check in the list you are interested, you can get a new schematic and add to the company crafting log a new and better prototype. To deliever the materials for the projects its needed a party of at least 4 crafters and the person that delievers the items get the EXP, being possible to split those delievers to everyone that wants to help or needs EXP. Each project have 3 phases and each one have different items and different quantities. When you deliever HQ items it will affect the RNG of the quantity of items you will need to deliever in the next phase. The Construction Quality will determine the Fabrication Condition, being Normal the minimum condition. Company workshops can also be utilized to craft and register airships using requisite components and flight credits.

Registered airships can be deployed to explore uncharted lands in the Sea of Clouds, being the areas to survey unlocked when you rank up with your airship. Upon completion of an exploratory voyage, we will be provided with a voyage log detailing the results. From each voyage we get a rating, EXP and items found. The way the parts of the airship are combined will determine the distances it can travel, as well as the rewards we can get from voyages. The parts of the airship are the components that come with the Schematics. Airships are comprised of four primary parts - hull, rigging, forecastle and the aftcastle. The durability of these parts will be depleted when sending airships out on exploratory voyages and when the durability reaches zero it is needed to be replaced or repaired to be able to use the airship again. To repair a compenent its used one Airship Repair Materials. When assembling an airship, the total cost of the components cannot exceed the airframe capacity - this capacity increases with the rank of the airship. To be able to go on voyages its required Ceruleum Tanks, which are purchased using company credits from the resident caretaker in any of the housing districts.

We made our own thread about Workshop Projects & Progress, check it out!

- - Company Actions - -
In patch 2.5 was introduced the Aetherial Wheel. It can be used in a Free Company house to get FC actions without spending FC credits and each wheel (grade 1) takes 3 days to be charged. We have more information about Aetherial Wheel, the actions we use and the items we need for these crafts on our thread Company Actions. In this thread we will also post the new Actions sheet and its individual description.

With Heavensward, there was introduced two new Aetherial Wheels, a Level 2 and Level 3 machines. The Level 2 Aetherial Wheel can have Grade 1 and Grade 2 wheels charging at the same time. To get the Level 3 AW its needed the schematic Wheel Stand Prototype II. Grade 1 Wheels are obtained via craft with Alchemist but Grade 2 and Grade 3 are only craftable via the Fabrication Station, in the FC Workshop (after getting Aetherial Wheel Schematics). The actions Brave New World and Brave New World II got adjustments.

- - New Furnishing, Aetherial Wheels and Triple Triad furnishing - -
Setting the Triple Triad board as indoor furnishing will allow players to play TT anywhere within the house, although to play within the private chambers its required a separate Triple Triad board. Regional rules will not apply to matches held within housing and these matches will not count toward TT tournaments. Information about aetherial wheels can be found in our Company Actions - Information & Rotation and Workshop Projects & Progress threads and in the previous Title information.

- - Triple Triad Cards - -
There are some new triple triad cards and this information will be available in our Triple Triad thread when we get more information about it. Besides the new cards, there are new NPC that you can challenge, and of course new areas where you can play TT.

- - Mini Cactpot tickets - -
Its now possible to buy three mini cactpot tickets although there is a catch: the first ticket requires 100 MGP, the second ticket requires 200 MGP and the third requires 300 MGP. If you are not carefull you might lose more MGP than what you can win, so play safe or no Fenrir for you! There are also new items and gear that you can buy with MGP - check the NPC at the Gold Saucer to see the list.

- - Flying Mounts and Aether Currents - -
Flying Mounts and Flying. First of all, to be able to fly its needed to gather all aether currents in each 6 new areas from Heavensward. There are 10 aether currents that you need to search for with your compass (green symbols in your aether currents tab) and other 5 that you will obtain with quests (yellow symbols in your aether currents tab). After having all 15 aether currents you will be able to fly in that area - when you change to other area and if you dont have the respective 15 AC from there you will not be able to fly. In case you lose your compass you can speak with Gilbrillont at the Forgotten Knight to obtain other one. For now we cant fly in ARR areas but that might change in the future (no promises tho). If you are still searching for all Aether Currents and want help check our thread with that information.

Players will receive two flying mounts by progressing through the main scenario story, although you will only be able to fly until you unlock the Aether Currents. After unlocking the AC from one area you will be able to do a quest to make your companion chocobo, your legacy chocobo and your fat chocobo fly - this quest will appear in Ishgard and its called "I Believe I Can Fly". The controls to fly are pretty easy: just jump and move.

- - New Jobs and Abilities - -
You already know the new three jobs but you might not know their abilities and also the new ones and changes to the old ones on the other classes/jobs. Since this information is a huge list i will suggest that if you really want this information visit Dark Knight, Astrologian, Machinist websites or check our existent job guides here on the forum - the Job guide may or may not be updated since they are made by our members.

- - Limit Break - -
The limit break for ranged physical DPS has been changed to an attack to all targets in a straight line before the caster. Level three limit breaks can now only be used by jobs. Unfortunately MNK and BLM have the same Limit Break as before. LB have now different names for each job: Last Bastion (PLD), Land Waker (WAR), Dark Force (DRK), Final Heaven (MNK), Dragonsong Dive (DRG), Chimatsuri (NIN), Saggitarius Arrow (BRD), Satellite Beam (MCH), Meteor (BLM), Teraflare (SMN), Pulse of Life (WHM), Angel Feathers (SCH) and Astral Stasis (AST). If you want to see all the limit breaks you can check them in this website, enjoy!

- - Player attributes and Pets - -
Skillspeed and spellspeed now affect damage over time and healing over time effects. The affect of determination on auto-attacks has been reduced. Critical hit rate now affects damage dealt with a critical strike. Certain attributes no longer affect parry or block.

The base accuracy of pets has been raised and all pet attacks will now be treated as if attacking from the rear. Pets will now receive the attribute bonuses of food items. In order to receive the effects of the caster's spell speed attribute, all pet actions excluding auto-attacks have been changed to elemental damage.

- - Instanced duty - -
Even while watching certain cutscenes, playing mini-game in the Gold Saucer, challenging a player or NPC to a Triple Triad match, we will be able to join an instanced duty. When doing so the activity you are doing will be canceled and in TT match, any MGP or tournament points to be received will be forfeited. Furthermore, canceled TT tournament matches will count toward the maximum number of matches allowed during a given tournament. The word "certain" confirms that some cutscenes will need to be skiped manually to be able to accept a instanced duty, although I have no information about which cutscenes are these.

- - Tomestones - -
Allagan tomestones of Law are the new tomestones. Up to a maximum of 2,000 and with no weekly limitation, we will only be able to receive these tomes after reaching level 60 with at least one class or job. In a next patch (possibly 21 July) we will have other new tomestones called Esoterics. We can no longer obtain Allagan Tomestones of Soldierys and every content that gave a reward of these tomes will now offer Allagan Tomestones of Poetics. Tomestones of Mythology have been removed from the game as too the weekly limit for the Poetics Tomestones. If you have any Soldiery tomes you should trade them for Poetics with Auriana in Revenant's Toll in Mor Dhona - you can no longer trade soldiery tomes for items.

- - Duty Roulette organization and EXP reward - -
With Heavensward the duty roulette organization and dungeons were changed. To unlock the Duty Roulette: Expert its needed 2 new dungeons (probably the lvl 60 last ones from MSQ) - the 3 dungeons from ARR that were in this duty roulette were transfered to the Duty Roulette: High Level. The requirements to unlock Duty Roulette: Trials has been changed and players can now participate in this roulette after unlocking any two trials of the trial list.

Players will now be rewarded experience points upon completing Duty Roulette: Main Scenario, Duty Roulette: Trials, or Duty Roulette: High Level prior to level 60. However, players who do not use duty roulette to join level 50 duties associated with the above roulettes will not receive experience points. Any dungeons level 49 or less, and level 51 until 59 will give exp when killing mobs. The amount of Gil received from first time completion bonus has been increased and the following duties were added to the list of the ones that give bonus: Keeper of the Lake, Wanderer's Palace (Hard), Amdapor Keep (Hard), Chrysalis, Steps of Faith, Urth's Fount, Battle in the Big Keep, The World of Darkness.

A reward of PvP experience points and Wolf Marks has been added to Duty Roulette: Frontline. The number of company seals granted by the Duty Roulette: Low Level's adventurer in need bonus has been increased. The type of Allagan tomestones received from Duty Roulette has been adjusted: from Expert we will receive 80 Law, from High Level we will receive 100 Poetics and 100 Law, from Low Level we will receive 100 Law, from Trials we will receive 60 Law, from Main Scenario we will receive 120 Poetics and from Frontlines we will receive 50 Poetics.

- - Duty Finder Settings - -
On Duty Finder, the All tab has been removed and it was created new tabs to divide the "Dungeons (A Realm Reborn)" from "Dungeons (Heavensward)", "Trials (A Realm Reborn)" from "Trials (Heavensward)" and "Raids (A Realm Reborn)" from "Raids (Heavensward)". Instead of 6 icons we now have 9 where the ones with a "2" have the content from Heavensward. Trials and Dungeons introduced with patch 3.0 have been added to the Duty Finder. Duty Finder Settings menu has been added to the Duty Finder and here its possible to select Undersized Party, Minimum IL or change the Loot Rules.

Using the Undersized Party, players can participate in duties without meeting minimum party member requirements. Futhermore, role requirements, level sync, and item sync are ignored when this option is enabled. This option can only be used for 2.X dungeons, 2.X trials, binding coil of bahamut, second coil of bahamut and final coil of bahamut. The strenght of enemies or mechanics in this duties will not have any change when this option is selected. Players will still receive treasure rewards, first time completion bonuses, and experience points upon completion of duty when using this. However, players will not receive experience points or items from enemies that appear prior to boss encounters. Spirit bond and soul resonance cannot be gained when using this option. Only party leader can select this setting.

Using Minimum IL, all gear will be item level synced to the minimum requirement of the duty where it is applied. This option can be used with the required number of party members or in conjunction with the undersized party option. This option is recommended for players who wish to challgenge duties as they were when first introduced - with no nerfs. Like Undersized Party, only the party leader can select this setting.

Players can access the Loot Rules tab of the Duty Finder Settings menu after meeting party size requirements, or by enabling the undersized party option. Doing so will give parties the option of using normal loot rules, greed only, or setting the party leader as lootmaster to determine individual loot distribution (party leader will not be randomly assigned upon entering a duty when lootmaster is enabled). Loot rules cannot be set for duties that require an alliance. Normal loot rules make need, greed, pass system employed for all loot drops. Greed Only only let the party members select greed or pass. Lootmaster makes the party leader the one to determine individual loot distribution - loot can be distributed one of two ways by the lootmaster: manually distribute loot to party members or setting items as greed only. When the lootmaster selects greed only the players will only be able to select greed or pass but this option can be canceled at any time, however, in the event party members select greed and the loot master cancels this option, the numbers rolled prior to cancelling will be used should the lootmaster reselect greed only.

Loot rules cannot be changed after a duty has started and loot rules will default to normal when randomly matched with other players via the Duty Finder.

- - New Hunts and new Currency - -
New elite marks have been added to all new areas with the expansion. When any of these elite marks are defeated they will give Centurio Seals (the new currency), which can be exchanged for various items and gear. These new elite marks will also reward experience points. Before taking up the Hunt in these new areas, players must first complete a side quest called Let the Clan Hunt Begin, which also requires completion of the quest "Let the Hunt Begin" in the Grande Company you follow: Maelstrom, Immortal Flames or Twin Adder. After you do the "special quest" with Aytienne in Foundation, you will unlock the Level 1 Heavensward Hunts, to unlock the Level 2 you will need the side quest Better Bill Hunting with Eustacia in Foundation, and to unlock Level 3 you need Top Marks with Yloise in Idyllshire. To unlock Heavensward Elite Hunts and Centurio Seals Exchange you will need to do a quest called Elite and Dangerous with Ardolain, in Foundation (X:13 Y:11) - you need the quest Top Marks for this one. Ardolain is the NPC you should talk if you want to exchange any centurio seals for items and gear.

We will create a thread with all information and images we can gather about all the Hunt Marks.

- - Zodiac Weapons adjustments - -
The items required to create and upgrade Zodiac Weapons must now be purchased using Allagan tomestones of poetics instead of Allagan tomestones of soldiery. The drop rate for atma has been increased and its easily possible to get all 12 atmas in one day now. The number of enemies to defeat for the Trials of the Braves has been reduced so instead of killing 10 of each you only need 3. The drop rate of alexandrite from FATES has been increased. The number of alexandrite received from the quest "Morbid Motivation" has been increased to 3 or 5. The rate at which weapons gain soul attunement and soul resonance has been increased (probably to the double of last time). The drop rate of dungeons items required to make a Zodiac Weapon has been increased - I now get each item with only one or two runs of the dungeon I need them from.

Since now we can obtain glamour of the Zodiac weapons its not worthy to start to do a relic at this stage, if you only wanted it for glamour. Although, it is told that who have the Zeta (last phase of the Zodiac Weapon) will get some kind of boost for the new weapons in the next patch, so if you have your Relic still to finish you should do so before the next patch arrives.

- - Desynthesis and level cap - -
Gear from the following trials, duties and exchanges can now be desynthesized: Soldiery gear, Poetics gear, Allied seals gear, item level 100 PvP gear, item level 110 PvP gear, Second Coil of Bahamut, Final Coil of Bahamut, The Word of Darkness, The Whorleater (Extreme), Akh Afah Amphitheatre (Extreme) and Urth's Fount. The level cap for desynthesis has been increased from 110 to 180 for each class and the cumulative skill point maximum has been increased from 350 to 560. If Im not wrong we can now have 3 classes with desynthesis at the maximum and some points distributed on the others classes.

- - Disciples of the Hand and Disciples of the Land actions - -
For each Disciple of the Hand we will get 5 new abilities (level 50, level 51, level 53, level 54 and level 60). All classes will get Collectable Synthesis, Byregot's Brow and Precise Touch, then at level 54 they will get Name of the Wind (CRP) / Fire (BSM) / Ice (ARM) / Earth (LTW) / Lightning (WVR) / Water (ALC) and Maker's Mark for GSM and Muscle Memory for CUL. At level 60 you can get "Heart of the "class" if you get to be Specialist in that DoH. The specialists classes will share 6 abilities: Satisfaction, Whistle While You Work, Innovative Touch, Nymeia's Wheel, Byregot's Miracle and Trained Hand.

Miner and Botanist will get two new abilities at level 23 and level 24: Clear Vision and Bountiful Yield (Miner), Flora Mastery and Bountiful Harvest (Botanist). Fisher gets Snagging at level 36. After level 50, miner, botanist will get 12 new abilities and fisher 7 new abilities. For miner and botanist: Collector's Glove (level 50), Methodical Appraisal (level 50), Discerning Eye (level 50), Instinctual Appraisal (level 51), Utmost Caution (level 51), Deep Breath (level 52), Impulsive Appraisal (level 53), Luck of the Mountaineer/Pioneer (level 55), Single Mind (level 57), Dredge/Prune (level 58), Last Ditch (level 59) and Dredge II/Prune II (level 60). For fisher: Collector's Glove (level 50), Patience (level 51), Powerful Hookset (level 51), Chum (level 54), Precision Hookset (level 56), Fish Eyes (level 57), Patience II (level 60).

The ability Snagging for Fisher is used to obtain timeworm maps.

Its too early to have information about every new ability but this information will be added here or in a crafting/gathering guide in the future.

The CP cost of Brand of Wind / Fire / Ice / Earth / Lightning / Water have been reduced from 15 to 6.

- - Specialists, Splendors Exchange and Collectables - -
By completing a special quest (Beloved of the Builder, with Lydirlona in Revenant's Toll X:22 Y:6), players will receive 3 specialized soul that can be used in any of the Disciples of the Hand. Equipping this soul will give access to unique actions that allow for more efficient and higher-quality synthesis for that class. Called Soul fo the Crafter, players can hold up to three specialized souls but we might be able to obtain additional souls in future updates. If you have three specialized souls and wish to specialize in a different discipline you will need to relinquish one of the three classes soul, for this talk with Alderan in The Pillars (X:14 Y:10).

Rowena's House of Splendors seeks capable tradesmen to procure the collectable sought by her wealthy clientele. Players can craft or gather collectable items to be exchanged for experience points, scrips, and gil. Scrips are rewarded based on the collectability of the item exchanged. However, items considered to be collectable can only be obtained through crafting or gathering. You can check the items list that you can deliever when you visit your Timers and Rowena's House of Splendor selectable tab will appear in the end of that list. You can now exchange blue crafter's scrips and blue gatherer's scrips for items and gear. Players can only receive blue crafter's scrips and blue gatherer's scrips after reaching level 56. Moreover, players can only obtain up to a maximum of 2,000 scrips. There is no weekly limitation on blue crafter's scrips. Red crafter's scrips and red gatherer's scrips are scheduled to be added approximately four weeks after the start of official service from Heavensward (probably at end of the month of July).

To unlock the Collectable Action you first need to do the quest Inscrutable Tastes, with Morgayne at Foundation (X:10 Y:10). To be possible to get this quest you need to do the main story one called The Better Half. To craft collectable items, players must first use the Collectable Synthesis command to acquire the Collectable Synthesis Status. While under the effect of this status, you will have the option to finish an item as a collectable after the final step of successful synthesis. If you desire you can convert collectable items to normal quality items via the subcommand menu. To gather collectable items, players must use the Collector's Glove command. While under the effect of this command, players can gather items as collectables. After gathering a collectable item, players can then use the general action Aetherial Reduction to possibly receive items of even greater rarity.

Its too early to have full information about this new type of gathering and crafting items but this information will be added here or on future guides about crafting and gathering.

- - Ephemeral gathering points, Tomes of regional folkore and gathering star items - -
Like unspoiled gathering points, these gathering points will only appear at certain times of the day even if they appear in your gathering log. However, so long as they are active, they will not dissipate until they have been depleted.

Players can exchange blue gatherer's scrips for one of nine types of tomes of reginonal folkloe. Botanist and Miner, when using a tome of regioanl folklore will allow you to discover previously hidden gathering points. Bear in mind that these gathering points are only available at certain times of the day. Fisher, when using a tome of regional folklore will allow you to discover hidden fishing holes and rare fish that are otherwise unobtainable.

The requirement to gather level 50 one, two, and three star items has been reduced.

Like Disciple of the Hand and Land actions, Specialists, Splendor exchange and Collectables' information, we will add here or in future guides more information about this new three subjects.

- - Server congestion and Instances - -
Besides of the 30 min AFK kick feature - which will be removed when the server congestion is determined to no longer be an issue - it were created Instances - called as Field Instance, is one of many copies of an area that we can travel to when changing areas. Depending on each World's congestion, there may be Worlds that do not separate areas into Field Instances.

To ease area populations and login restrictions due to congestion when service starts, multiple Field Instances were implemented in The Dravanian Forelands, The Churning Mists and Coerthas Western Highlands. They are distinguished with a number at the end of the area name and you can confirm in which instance you are in your Chat Log or writing the command "/instance". When you are changing areas on foot or by mount you will be able to choose the instance you want to get in but that only works when you do that when entering to one of the areas listed before - if you are already in that area and change in sub-areas you will not be able to choose the instance you are in.

Characters in different Field Instances of the same area will be able to send Tells to one another and be in the same Party, but will not be able to see each other. If you are already in Party and teleport to other area (one of the listed before) you may not be teleported to the same instance.

Information about Field Instances taken from the post Congestion Prevention for Heavensward Release (Updated Jun. 25 2:45 a.m. PDT) from the Official FFXIV website.

! Enjoy Heavensward !

No worries! I hope all this information can be helpful
I will leave this reply with information about the 3.01 patch that happened today!

Probably the most important and discussed addition from this little patch is the new raid dungeon
Alexander: Gordias!

"Since the Sharlayan exodus, a structure has stood steady against the flow of the Thaliak River. Now, the Illuminati have summoned a primal around this rusting ruin─a terrible colossus of steam and metal. Steel screamed against steel when it rose from the waters, and it drank deep of the land's aether before grinding again to a halt.

The voices of Idyllshire cry out, asking for aid ere their homes are crushed under the weight of iron. You must lead a band of valiant adventurers into the machina and discover how to destroy the core─lest the giant screeches again to life, and bleeds all the realm dry."

To be able to get Alexander, players must first complete the main scenario quest "Heavenward" (level 60). After doing all MSQ, with a level 60 disciple of war or magic, go to Idyllshire (X:7 Y:6) and talk with the NPC Slowfix, he will give you a quest called Disarmed. Alexander is a content done with a party of 8 players and have time limit of 90 minutes. You can solo queue via the Duty Finder after unlocking the raid, although you need average item level 170 or above!

As rewards, treasure coffers that appear upon completing this raid will not yield gear, but instead yield tokens that can be traded for gear of your choosing. To do this exchange you need to talk with Sabina in Idyllshire (X: 5 Y:5). You need 4 tokens for Body or Legs, 2 tokens for Head, Hand or Feet and 1 token for Waist or Accessories. In total will take you 15 tokens to get all left gear side plus 5 more tokens to get all accessories.

You can only receive one item per floor each week so in the event you are awarded an item from the loot list you will relinquish your right to vie for all remaining items, regardless of whether you selected Need or Greed. There is no weekly restriction on entering Alexander. Like all resets, the weekly drop for this raid will reset every Tuesday at 8:00 (GMT).

The gear and accessories available will be item level 190 and called Prototype Gordian. Since the patch got released today we dont have other images to share with you besides this one:

There will be a minion drop, and its called Steam-powered Godwalker G-VII.

Other items:
Gordian Bureau (Table): A writting table crafted from gears found inside the right arm of the mechanical fortress Alexander.
